  • 1/2 cup g almond meal
  • 2 cups plain Flour
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 3 Tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Cardamom Scented Salted Butter Cookies recipe

These cookies not only smell heavenly but will literally melt in your mouth.

STEP 1: MAKE THE DOUGH

Place flour and baking powder in a bowl. In another bowl, mix the butter and sugar until creamy. Then add the ground cardamom & almond meal and mix. Add 1/3 of the flour mix followed by an egg yolk and combine well, repeat the process adding the third yolk last. Mix
everything together until there’s a smooth dough.

STEP 2: ROLL AND CUT

Sandwiched between two sheets of parchment paper, flatten and roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thick. Chill the rolled pastry for about 20-30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350º F. Use a cookie cutter to cut into small rounds.

STEP 3: BAKE

Transfer the cut cookies to a cookie sheet, brush with egg wash and bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown. Allow the cookies to cool and, if you like, serve with melted chocolate for dipping!
