  • 1/2 cup salted French butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • Pinch of salt

French Butter Caramel Sauce

Celebrate any holiday with a Salted French Butter Caramel drizzle!

STEP 1: melt butter with cream

In a saucepan set over medium-low heat, melt the butter in the heavy cream and set aside.

STEP 2: Make the caramel

Place the sugar in a separate saucepan set over medium heat. Pour the water over the sugar and allow it to dissolve. As the sugar begins to caramelize, swirl the pan.

STEP 3: Make the sauce

When the caramel is a rich golden color, remove the pan from the heat and add the hot cream and melted butter to the caramel. Return the caramel to the lowest heat setting, whisking constantly. Stir for 2 minutes on low. Then add a pinch or two of salt and serve!
